The Information Without Borders Conference is a student-led initiative by the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University. This one-day event provides a forum for interdisciplinary discussion on a central topic affecting all professions represented at Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management.
IWB was designed to: facilitate networking and communication among students, faculty, and professionals; provide a forum for information pertaining to this year’s conference topic; promote interaction among schools in the Faculty of Management and other Dalhousie departments; allow students to develop skills; and encourage students to present their current research.
Check out the IWB website for the conference schedule as well as information on guest speakers.
Hi folks! I’m sure you’ve heard about the NSALT (Nova Scotia Association of Library Technicians) conference coming up on Friday, October 26th. NSALT is a non-profit organization that exists to promote a “wider understanding, acceptance and advancement of Library Technician graduates and students in Nova Scotia, to further the cause of Library Technicians… and to respond to issue that relate to the entire library community.”*
This is a really excellent networking opportunity for you to get out there and mingle with fellow technicians who you may be working with/working for some day. Also, as an added bonus both Harvey and Joanne Hodder will be presenting at the conference!
It’s not too late to sign up for the conference—you have until next Monday (October 22nd). Student members and non-members pay $20.00.
For more details, check out NSALT’s website at *http://www.nsalt.org.
